Singapore Children's Society

Singapore Children's Society was established in 1952 by a group of concerned citizens and expatriates to help sick and malnourished children. For close to 60 years, the Society's services have evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of less-fortunate children. Today, the society helps disadvantaged children, youths and their families through 59 programmes and 9 service centres that are spread across Singapore. In 2010 alone, Singapore Children's Society reached out to more than 57,000 children, youths and families.

Singapore Children's Society has been fulfilling a pivotal role in improving the lives of their beneficiaries. They are an independent and non-profit organisation that relies on public support for their programmes. The Society runs Sunbeam Place (a residential home for abused and neglected children), before-and-after school care centres, after-class drop-in CABINs in 18 neighbourhood schools, a toll-free children's helpline (Tinkle Friend Helpline), counselling and developmental programmes, public education and more.
